If your TikTok profile is set as a Business Account, you will experience some restrictions that can affect your participation in certain campaigns or features on our platform. Switching back to a Personal Account helps unlock full access and better engagement.
How to check your account type and switch from business to personal
Open the TikTok app.
Go to your profile by tapping the Profile icon in the bottom right corner.
Tap the three lines (☰) in the top right corner.
Go to Settings and privacy > Manage account.
Under Account control, look for Account type:
If it says Business Account, your profile is a business profile.
If it says Personal Account, you already have a personal profile.
How to switch from a business to a personal account
Follow the steps above to reach the Manage account.
Tap Switch account type.
Select Switch to Personal Account.
Confirm your choice.
Your profile will immediately change to a personal account.
Why switch to a personal account?
Some music and sounds may be restricted on Business Accounts.
Personal Accounts have more flexibility with TikTok trends and sounds.
